Hey Jimmy,

I got the Bass last Saturday - AMAZING. Thank you. She looks good, plays good and feels good. You and Bill more than met my expectations. I could go on and on about the actual product, but what I want really want to thank you for is the service.

I have never dealt with a better individual luthier who has provided so much care in communicating with his customer. I was blown away. Not only did you listen to my "crack-pot" ideas, you entertained them. Even though some ideas did not work out in the end it meant quite a lot to me that you even considered them. Your constant communication throughout would put most customer service centers to shame. It has been a pleasure and I hope to be your customer again in the future.

. . . oh, and did I mention that the bass is ridiculously, awesome!

Thank you Jimmy - you make me smile each day when I pull my landing out of the case.

p.s. Bill is a badass!

Hi Jimmy,
Well what can I say. SHE IS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!! Arrived this morning. I have not put her down since. I can honestly say, that having owned Ricks, Stingray/Sterling, P & J basses to name but a few, THIS IS JUST THE BEST! I am thrilled and cannot believe how great this L2 really is. She just sounds fantastic, looks fantastic and plays even better. I really have never had an instrument of this quality. It truly does sound and play better than any bass I have ever played. I can only thank you sincerely for all of your hard work and contact with me over the past few months. THANK YOU! Please feel free to post this on your site Jimmy and I will certainly be spreading the Landing / Jimmy Wilson name about!!!!!
You are a star. Many many thanks.

Greetings Jimmy, --------- Well...I've had the opportunity to put the L30P through her paces. I've gotta admit that she's even more than I expected. Although I picked her up as a "day to day" bass...mainly for club gigs & jams, she's turned out to be another Landing gem! She has a nice growl & punch to her. With the active electronics, she can also pump out the low end as if she were a long-scale bass. I've also had some compliments regarding the natural finish...nice piece of wood!

Hi Jimmy,

Sorry about the delays in getting back to you about these basses, but as you know, I've had a lot going on.

As with the other instruments I've gotten from you, these babies are gems! The Custom Shop L2 is amazingly versatile with a fantastic tonal range. The drop-D tuner is also a great touch because, as I've mentioned to you, I sometimes like to do stuff in this alternative tuning. The finish looks even better in person than in the pics.

The LDS2 is also outstanding. The Dark Star pickups sound fat and punchy. When I saw the pics I was reminded of the big humbuckers like the neck pickups on the Gibson EB series basses...but the Dark Stars are much more articulate, while maintaining the fat bottom end. I've gotten some great compliments on the Custom CROC pickguard...very cool looking in person!

If you post this, I want anybody reading this to feel free to see how many Landing basses I've added to my instrument collection and reviewed. Every bass is special in it's own way and I truly enjoy playing them even more than the other "big name" instruments in my collection.

Thanks! ---------- Jorge

On February 24th Georges has got his beautiful instrument. It has been in the Belgian customs for quiet a while.
So, this is the reason for the long delay…

I must say that he's VERY proud !
He came the next day to show his bass and even I was impressed !

Thanks very much again…I've put some pics in the mail.

You're Welcome Jimmy.

I sing the praises of this bass to everyone I know, I wish my playing did it justice. Plays like a dream, sounds great played direct or with it's own amp and the looks speak for themselves. Amazing instrument Jimmy.

I used a sansamp with it and junked it for just a straight direct box (Fatpro Technologies) The sansamp covered up the tone of the bass. I really do not like for the amp to add anything to this bass's sound. A clean amp and this bass is all you need. I have a self-contained PA by Yorkville with a 15 and a horn. This bass sounds great plugged directly into it. I use a Boss LMB compression pedal to cover up my sloppiness and the tone is awesome straight out of the PA.

Thanks again Jimmy ------------- Will

Hey Jimmy,
Thanks for the great bass.....you've scored another hit! The finish is even nicer in person than what I imagined from the pictures. I also appreciate the custom wiring & switch per my specs. Since it's tuned as a piccolo bass (although I re-tuned the lowest string to drop-D), I've played it through my SVT with a 4-10 cabinet for the bass tones and a Marshall 50 watt half stack for stuff in the guitar range. She is amazing.

Thanks again Jimmy ----------- Jorge

Hope you have a nice holiday. I still love my bass. Sounds so good. I am using a line 6 lowdown amp and have it set on a 74 ampeg svt.sound.
It is also so cools cause bass players come hear the band and they just look and look trying to figure it out. Some ask on break.
My next bass will be a Landing five string. Maybe dark stars, maybe PJs I don't know but it will be a Landing Bass.
You rocked my world when you built this ass kicking bass.
Check out trixxchaz.com we are still playing alot.
I am running sound for trixx a couple times a month. I have a couple of q's for you when I get to chat again. I will call you over the holiday

Hey Jimmy,

I received the L300 today and was floored by the quality of this bass. I played it through various amp & cabinet combos.....I couldn't make this baby sound bad even if I wanted to!

Here's the beauty...As you know, I have a pretty good collection of axes. This is how the L300 compares:

The body contour & size feels as nice as any of my American Strats (but this is a bass). It has the piano-like highs & mids of my Ricks, but with an even faster neck. The growl is comparable to my favorite P-basses...but with even more punch thanks to the active electronics. The short scale neck blows away my SG, EBO & Mustang basses (not to mention the fact that the latter basses aren't even in the same ballpark as the L300 when it comes to tonal range). When you hold and play the L300 it feels almost like a baritone scale guitar (but also blows away my baritone Strat Sub-Sonic, Jag & Dano).

I'm looking forward to the next L300 with the customized wiring that you're working on, as well as the Dark Star-Synth bass that we've been discussing as a custom project.

Thanks Jimmy! ---- Jorge

This bass sounds amazing! I played it last night through an SVT vintage reissue head with a 4-10 & 4-12 cabinet...then through 2 bi-amped Ashdowns with 2-10s, 1-12 & 1-15. The tonal range is excellent & it definitely kicks in the growl department.
Congrats on your skill & workmanship. I'm looking forward to the L300 & also plan on asking you to build me a few more toys.

Jimmy,

I received the bass on Friday around 4:30 and played it at the gig that night. Sounds, plays, feels and looks fantastic. She stayed in tune the entire set without any tweaking. This will now be my main gigging bass. Really well balanced and comfortable, and the shorter scale felt natural. Thanks again for making my concept of a downsized P-bass a reality. Your craftsmanship exceeded my expectations and it was a pleasure working with you as you kept me well informed of your progress every step of the way. PS - the finish is unbelievably deep and rich, everyone was quite impressed with the look as well as the sound. I got many positive comments from audience members who asked "What kind of a bass is that? It's awesome".

I was more than happy to let them in on the Landing info and tell them about this guy Jimmy Wilson who builds these great basses. Once again thanks for all of your effort in building this fantastic bass for me.

Hi Jimmy,

I have a buddy at the post office who let me come in early this morning to pick up my baby. I must say that it is everything you promised and more. It is the most beautiful instrument I have ever seen, and my brother owns a Rick 360 guitar in the Fireglow finish, which now takes a distant second place.

I didn't have alot of time to play with her this morning, but after tuning her up and plugging her in I can say that she sounds terrific. I only wish my playing was up to the task. The phase switch adds brightness and when you turn it off, you get that growl. I only played her with the blade switch in positions 2 and 4, so I have not yet begun to explore the tonal capabilities yet.

What really surprised me about her is how small she is. I placed her in a guitar stand next to my strat and she is only about 3 inches longer. This is a really petite gal, and it is a joy to strap on.

The finish is outstanding and the action is unbelievable. The neck is smooth and fast.

The pickguard has to be seen in person to really be appreciated. The way it reflects light as you move around is really something. You made a great choice with Jeannie.

Needless to say Jimmy I am very pleased and I can't wait to get home tonight to play her.

Talk to you later ------------- Will

Subject: MY L2

Jimmy, I wanted to send a comment on my L2 for other perspective customers to ponder. First and foremost having a landing bass made for you takes time. The quality goes in before the name goes on. I knew I wanted a new bass. After playing my Aria Pro 2 for 25 years it had some heavy wear. Playing high end basses in the music stores just didn't impress me. I wanted some better quality than my old bass. What I found was over 20 years later the workmanship wasn't as good even with all our high tech today. I decided I wanted a 30.5 scale. As I didn't want to reach all night long playing. Fender and Gibson make a short scale but they are made for the beginner player really, I wanted a bass with horsepower. I contacted Jimmy Wilson in January. We chatted back and forth until March. Because I was having surgery I didn't want to order as I didn't want to commit if I ended up physically challenged.
By May, I ordered my L2. Jimmy let me pick out every detail. I ordered exactly what I wanted for everything. One exception I wanted diamond fret markers, Jimmy wasn't able to do that. I understand how hard that is for any builder. Special cutters!!!!!!. Jimmy, is a single man building basses, He cuts out like 5 guitar bodies and necks at once. Then he works on all for them at different stages in the process. So don't expect him to drop everyone's order for you. It took a total of 8 weeks for mine. I knew it would. Jimmy won't hurry the process and produce anything but the perfect bass, I went down and toured his business, He is so dedicated to what he does. He puts several coats of clear finish on and buffs the heck out of it. My bass was so mirror finish you can see clouds in the photos he took, Oh, did I forget, You will have lots of photos sent to you on each step of the way.
Jimmy, gave me what commerial companies couldn't I high quality crafted bass with the absolute best hardware and electronics. All for the price range of an American made Jazz only much better.'
I have played three shows since I picked it up. The DC35's really brought the best out of our high end PA. I went out front and listened on a driving rock song, It was then I knew I made the right choice. Thanks Landingbass. I got what I wanted and what Jimmy promised. My advice for bassists. Check out Landing Bass. This was the best decision I made in my music career.

Jimmy!

This thing is unbelievable! The DarkStar pickups have got to be the ultimate single coils! I absolutely love the way the bass sounds-- think Geddy Lee's sound with that black Fender! That's it!

My band is on a hiatus for a couple months but we got together this week so I got to hear it in the mix and with the full amp/PA set up-- it is too good! Way better than I even expected it to be. Theses pickups sound pretty good when played solo-bass but they really come into their own in the mix. GGGRRRRRRRROWL!!!

Good versatility too-- neck pickup solo is more of a P-bass sound, round, full and thumpy. Solo the bridge pickup and you get a nice 'burpy' tone. Both together and you get that huge punchy, growly, tone I mentioned above. Very cool set range of tones available.

Nice job on the installation too. The guard looks great-- I like the mud tort even better than the red tort that was on it before. The bass just looks really great with the two DarkStars, and the vintage look of the knobs is right on the money!

IMO, any of your customers who choose the DarkStar option are bound to be pleased. I LOVE MY LANDING BASS!

Thanks a million,

Matt

PS: sorry for the delay in getting back to you-- just got back in town this week and it's been busy, busy, busy....

Jimmy,

I finally filled out a review of my L1 at Harmony Centrol. I have listed the link below. Don't get PO'ed at me, but I didn't give it straight 10's. I very easily could have since there is nothing about my L1 that I am dissatisfied with, but I thought the review would be a little unbelievable if it was all 10's (especially since the other two reviews on file are all 10's).

I have never in my life named one of my instruments. I would have laughed myself silly if anyone had suggested something like that to me before. However, my L1 is now "Baby" or "Pretty Baby" if I am in an expansive mood. With or without a name it is a member of my family now.

Hope things are well with you and that you have a good holiday season. ---------------- MIKE

Jim,

I would like to tell you how happy I am with my new custom amber bass. For the past three years I have tried to find "MY TONE". By using the one and jazz pickup combo, a great big deep tone is created. Finally I found it! Thanks for all the work you had to put into this project. The results are from a real "old school" custom shop builder. Great Job! Its like buying a piece of art that you can play. Can't wait to work with you on a new project.

Thanks Bob Hackacelli

It looks, sounds, and plays great, and I'm sure we'll both improve with time.

Thanks once again for a fine job.            All the best ---------------- Hans

Thanks, Jimmy!!! I was down in my basment again last night watching the Tigers/White Sox ballgame and playing. I couldn't put it down it sounds so great. And the neck and fretboard are so great feeling and so smooth and fast. The sustain is just so awesome. I think it outstrips the Ibanez SRX705 I had which was a neck thru. It is a fantastic instrument.

I better quit, I'm beginning to gush again. To cap it all, I have never been the type to name my axes. But I am seriously trying to think of a decent name. I think this baby deserves to have a name.

Just a note to say thanks for the L-300! It is everything I hoped it would be. And thanks for your very good response to all of my requests. And there were quite a lot of them eh? You did not fight me on any of them or make me feel like an idiot for asking about any of those ideas.
I have just switched back to bass from playing guitar the last fifteen years and I needed a super easy playable short scale bass so I wouldn't have to work so hard after being used to the guitar neck size. I looked into the usual Mustangs and EBO's and a few others and then came across your website. After talking with you and after calling a couple of your Landing owners I decided to make the upgrade to your bass. It was money back guaranteed so how could I lose? Anyway, the praise from your previous clients was overwhelming so I ordered away.
What I was the most pleased with was the way that you always answered your phone (unless completely immersed in the finishing process). And always quickly answered emails. But most of all it was all the pictures you sent me of all the woods, sample colors, logo ideas, everything to make me feel like a part of the project. That's what I appreciated the most.
You are the friendliest and nicest builder I have ever had the pleasure to have known. You make the best bass period. And you really care about each bass as if they were your own. And best of all you really listen.

I am very fortunate to have come across your website and I love my L-300!

Thank you my good man! ------------------------------- Rick NesSmith

The bass is really fitting like a glove now. It's remarkable how much better a bass or guitar can actually play and even seem to fit your hands better when you are getting that "sound" you want. It's always so much more inspiring to your creative playing. I can't hardly miss now when I'm playing fast run ideas all over the place. It's almost too easy sometimes. Like my hands are going to fly off the neck.

great and there was no damage. The bass is absolutely
gorgeous. I'm especially impressed with the subtle

the variety of sounds you can produce is amazing.
Thanks again Jimmy. I have never been so satisfied

Hi Jimmy,

Got it just fine @ 1:23 this afternoon. Shipping box was perfect, not even a dent in the cardboard... sure glad we went with U.P.S,!! (...as compared to the 2 packages we received via the post office in the last couple of weeks that were bashed in, with damaged contents in one).

The L532 & case both arrived in perfect condition... and I do mean _perfect_! I had high hopes & expectations based on your reputation, but this bass even exceeded what I was expecting. The pictures just can't convey the beauty of the blue with the wood grain showing thru, or how great the black hardware ties it together with the black "burst"
edges. And the neck, WOW! ...the birdseye is just gorgeous!! Your "smooth" is darn right slick, even the first comment from my wife was amazement on how "_smooth_" the neck feels... great work!

Love the set-up and NanoWebs, too. And I'm so glad I went with the EMG Jazz pups, this bass has exactly the tone I was looking for in a 5 string... and it plays like a dream, Jimmy... THANKS!!

You've got one very happy camper here, for sure..... beats any 5 string I've ever tried. You can bet any of my future basses will be "Landing's"!!

Feel free to use any part of this in your "comments'" section, Jimmy ...I mean every word of it, this is one FANTASTIC FIVE!...and you were a joy to work with on this!

Thanks again,
Robert

Subject: my L332

Jimmy,

After all this time, I'm still having the same problem I complained to you about over a year ago-- this bass is keeping me awake way too late at night when I should be sleeping! ;-))

Man, I was just thinking about you and thought I'd touch bass to say that the bass is doing just great. No problems at all, action is still just right (stable neck-- it's not even been adjusted since you set it up), stays in tune all the time, quiet as mouse when it should be, and tons of gain when you want.

The L332 continues to be my favorite bass to play. It's the one I grab at home for practice because it is so comfortable and easy to play, and yet gets more use on stage than my other basses because it sounds so good. I a/b'd it last Monday at rehersal with my Fender J bass (hot rodded-- has noiseless J pickups and an Aguilar onboard preamp). Afterwards, I asked the sound man which bass sounded better. He said "no contest-- the white one "(L332). He said it was a lot fuller, had more punch and attack.

The three pickup system is a stroke of genius. I love the controls layout-- simple, so I can easily adjust on the fly, but versatile so I can get a lot different tones. The 5 way switch is really the key. I can get great tone in any of the 5 positions with only a little change on the bass and treble controls. Very cool setup!

Jimmy, when it comes to making great basses, you are the man in my book. I feel like the L332 would have been a bargain at twice the price. Keep up the good work!

Thanks - Matt

PS: Maybe it's a little vain to say it but, in my opinion, there's not a better looking example of a Landing bass than mine. That vintage white/tort combo is just a great classic look. You worked hard to get the tone of the white just right and it paid off.

Jimmy,
Dropped you a line a week or two ago regarding the older L1 I picked up on ebay, thanks for the response. Sorry for the delay, but my computer chose to eat itself last week. I am really quite pleased with the instrument. So far it has performed excellently. The single pickup has a range of tone that I have not really seen on other single pickup instruments and varying my playing position has allowed a world of different sounds from this little bass. A new set of strings and a bit of cleaning later and I am happier with this bass than I have been with any other bass (with the constant tinkering I usually do). Thanks again for producing this wonderful little bass and keep them coming, I'll have to buy a new one from you one of these days!!!

Seriously, I can't believe a short scale bass could sound that great....I about blew the house down...LOL!!!!! I like the fact that I can get so many different types of tones...Plus, I really like how the strings just seem to resonate like a bell tone.....The string spacing is awesome as well....I couldn't put the damn bass down last night...And, I love the color....THE CRAFTMANSHIP is by far superb!!!!

I currently own and Ibanez Sound Gear Bass however, after playing the L2, I am going to sell the Ibanez....I really have no need for it....I am hoping that in the future you can built me that pink 5 string bass with pearly white pickguard that we briefly discussed.

The sound (with the flatwound strings) and the soapbar picks is exactly what I wanted: everything's possible from uprightbasslike to funky. The bass is lighter than I expected and the ride is as easy, as you promised. The case fits exactly to the bass and is small, another good thing.

Hi Jimmy,
I'd like to get another L1 Lefty - same Ash body as before.
All black body, black headstock, black hardware,
dark ebony fretboard, no inlaid fretboard dots - only side dots.
This will be an L1 in a kind of stealth style - all black.
Landing Bass logo on headstock could be in metalic silver
or it could be skipped - but I definitely don't want it in white.
Same Dean Markley strings Light Flatwound 45-100
What's my price? Also, how long for delivery?
I'll be taking my L1 to www.schoolofbass.com May 6-9

I'm really enjoying my L1 - thanks.

Jimmy,

I've played the L2 enough to at least give you my initial thoughts.

This is the best fit I've found so far. The quality is great. I love the neck, both the feel and the shape. And, with my small hands the length is just right. The pickups are really nice, and I can leave it plugged in with no batteries to mess with. The controls are simple...turn on the pickups where you want them and play. The weight, of lack thereof, is a welcome relief to my back and shoulder. In short, it sounds and plays as well as I could have hoped for. Oh yeah, the gig bag is great. One visual suggestion if it's feasible. The logo "L" would look really good in place of the 2 dots on the fretboard at the 12th fret.

I hope to play it Sunday and will try to round up a digital photo and email it to you soon. Thanks for building a super quality product. When I have a few minutes I'll put together a well-worded kudo for your web site comments section.

Thank you --------- Pastor Audie Long

Hi Jim,

Just got it. I'm speechless! The color with the touch of black burst came out better than I could of dreamed . It's lighter and easier to play than the Fender Jazz. I want to thank you again for the effort it takes to make such a custom piece. Now, if I remodel the kitchen, maybe I can talk the wife into another wild custom bass. Thanks much!

Talk at ya soon - Bob ---------------- Chicago, Ill.

Jimmy,
Got the bass yesterday and it is FANTASTIC! Loving the new bass. We are doing a country gig right now. We're playing the Clarkston theatre on Dec. 6 and planning a tour of Europe this summer. Check out the web site. Do a search for Joseph James music. I'll call you this week and heap some more praise. I will also write up a glowing review at harmony central and another bass forum that I belong to.
Thanks again,  Mike

Jimmy,
I'm sorry, I've been really swamped here at work. But I have plugged that bad boy in, and this bass sings. I played it thru a vox T-100 cab, and an Aguilar 1-12 cab and when you hit the E string it sounds like you've plucked an E on a grand piano. Beautiful!!!! I've never heard this type of tone on an electric bass, it is like tone so transparent, you can hear thru it. The sound has feel to it. So now my main basses are my L-2 and My L-4,  I'm selling the Warwick, my J-bass stays (since I did build it). I am totally BLOWN AWAY by these basses. Great job Jimmy, I'll be talking to you soon.
Thanks ------------- Dave

Jimmy ------   I love it , I love it , I love it ........................ did I mention I love it ? You were right the instrument is stunning. I love everything about it ............... I wouldn't change anything about the L5.  I would love to buy another one soon. Talk to you soon.

Thanks for making my day!! This is great news! So nice to hear that you have won another prominent person's heart! Your basses are TO DIE FOR and it makes a lot of sense to me that someone would be so pleased they'd want another one. I've owned both a Warwick and a Lakland and there is no doubt that my Landing L5 is better. It's always a pleasure to hear from you, especially with such great news. Thanks!!
You da man!!           LN

She loves the L1 so much that I am absolutely positive that she will never, ever, ever, never ever, send it back to you. Absolutely a beautiful color, tone, feel. and quality. We thank you!  If I had gotten my hands on it first she may never have had the chance to test it out. To late. Thanks and we will check in again, especially when shopping for another bass. The case was worth waiting for also!

Best to you!           Gary and Vallorie

Subject: RE: Landing on its way!

Hi Jimmy!

The bass arrived yesterday, which I must say is perfect timing, since I am on
vacaion from work this week (spending a relaxing week at home)! The instrument is
breathtaking--I have already had friends ask about it! The set up is perfect--exactly what I wanted. The neck is quite comfortable and the playability outstanding. I also love how I can get a mellow, almost upright tone, straight ahead rock, thrash metal and funk sound from it! I would have written you sooner, but I have been playing this thing for hours! I couldn't be more pleased at this point, and will write again when I have settled into a routine and know a little more.
Many thanks for the bass--you did a beautiful job with it. I can, indeed,
comb my hair by looking at the finish--it is that smooth! I am already thinking about what I want in my next bass (from you, of course!)

Feel free to publish my comments !

Suggestion: it might be nice to add sound files to your web site, showing all
of the different sound possibilities of Landing Basses. Your workmanship comes
through spectacularly on the site, and I can't imagine anyone not buying a Landing
bass after they hear a sound clip.

See you soon!

Jimmy,

I’ve been playing around with the L-2, side by side with my Warwick, and a custom J-bass I built in 89. Having turned 50, I’ve found that not all venues allow you to sit with correct playing position. I’ve found that the old joints tend to get what for lack of better words a repetative task pain. But playing the L-2 is like playing my Tele, no strain, and now I’m having a lot of fun, especially not being stuck in a seated position trying to maintain a correct hand-fretboard position. And that’s only the half of it. I thought I’ed sacrifice great sound, for a bass that was more comfortable. Not the case, when we talked and told you I needed a bass with bell tone, that sang. Especially for the pop and slap, but it also has an in-your-face sound that can let you step up front during the gig. The EMG’s make the bass articulate, not muddy or not so well defined, may be the word is precise.

Your L-2 is now my main bass.  Jimmy, we will be talking soon !

GREAT JOB !!!       Dave Hernandez

Dear Jimmy,
                      Love my L2.
Scott Caldwell , Lakeland, FL.

Hi Jimmy!   Long time no talk to! Hope all is going well for you. Judging by your
website, you're keeping busy. So am I, and still loving my blue & gold
Lil' Monster! I'm doing a variety of things with it. I just did a big
band gig last weekend for the Music Library Association national
conference; back in the fall I did a gospel concert with the Austin Civic
Chorus joined with several black Baptist church choirs; and I'm playing
regularly with an 8-piece band called Goose Gumbo, which does a mix of
jazz, swing, R&B and classic rock. Everywhere I show up to play with
musicians I haven't met before, they are always blown away by my bass --
both with the sound and its looks.

The Broken Spoke is a legendary old-time country honky-tonk here in
Austin. "Just Plain Folks" is a worldwide organization of independent
(unsigned) musicians and music industry people, founded by a former
corporate executive determined to give these folks (who are often shut out
of the mainstream music industry) an opportunity to be heard and to learn
from each other. It's pretty cool. Some images show members of Goose
Gumbo rockin' out, showcasing two prizewinning songs of our pianist,
Marilyn Rucker.

All best wishes,
Dell

Hi Jimmy,

I am very pleased to let you know the bass arrived safely today, and it is a beauty!! You now have a customer for life!! How do you create such wonderful instruments at such reasonable prices? I have waited a long time to own a well-made short-scale bass without spending mega bucks on a total custom job!! Everything about this bass is crafted with care and speaks of quality. The action is great, the construction rock solid, and the hardware top notch. Oh, and it looks pretty, too!
Some claim that short-scale basses lack in the tone department. Not this bass, it has awesome sound and versatility! I play with a 25 member orchestra and this bass will have no problem handling the horns and drums!!

I can't wait to order my next bass!! It will probably be a fretless, sometime around tax return time.

Thanks again -----------Karen

Is this a great bass or what? WOW!! Jimmy, what am I going to do when I
have a whole stable of your basses and I have to get rid of all my other
basses? Will I feel sad that they just weren't up to Landing standards?
Nope, I'll just be grateful every day that I found you.

I love this bass. It has tone to die for. Once again you've left me
speechless. Thanks for another wonderful bass. Oh, and beyond how it
sounds it balances perfectly, plays so easily and looks gorgeous. Really a
stunner. Sheesh, I don't know how you do it. But I'm glad you do.

Yours gratefully ----------- L.N.

The finest bass I have had the privilege of touching.

Thank you again, Jimmy. -- Frank

Jimmy,

The bass arrived safely on Friday and you're right,
she is a beauty! I couldn't put it down on Saturday.
I must say, I thought I would need a good six months
before I was confident enough on a fretless, but it
was really no problem. In fact, I left my other bass
at home on Sunday and went for it and played the
fretless live. I play in a church praise band and
leave my amp at the church, so I wasn't able to plug
plug it in until Sunday. I must say, my pleasure
turned to joy when I plugged it in and heard it
sing! Those EMG's are great. I set up the action for
just enough of that fretless 'brauw' sound and it is
awesome.

I have a $4K Alembic and although the craftsmanship
is excellent, I was never really satisfied with the
sound. I've decided to specialize in fretless and
with the playability and tone of your instrument,
I'm going to sell the Alembic.

Here's to you and looking forward to the 5 string
prototype. Have a great Spring and get a hold of me
when you start working on the proto.

Best Regards    --- Ken

JIMMY!!!!!

DO YOU BELIEVE THE BASS IS HERE ALREADY? OH WOW! Jimmy, it's beautiful. The action is wonderful and it has a really deep sound. I'M GOING TO GO OVER IT TONIGHT WHEN I GET HOME AND TUNE IT UP AND JUST WAIL. IT IS SOOOOO SWEET!!!

The tone is very pure, and it just sings. It sounds GREAT!!! The neck is
evenly toned, the strings have good sustain and the sound is rich and, well,
I'll say it again, pure. It is a pleasure to hear such beautiful tone!
Great bottom end, too. Like I said -- TONE and BOO-TAY! And the B string
is not at all floppy, it is right in there with the rest of them. I can't
say as much for some "name brand" basses I have! It plays especially nicely
when your right hand position is between the pickups, a little closer to the
bridge pickup. Yum!

The case is really cool - such a nice size, not too huge.WHAT A TREAT!!!!!!!THANK YOU! THANK YOU!!O MASTER OF BASS LUTHIERY!!!!!!!!!!

Jimmy-
Got her last night. Just as I expected, a fantastic job! Absolutely perfect! The back is 100% perfect too! Thank
you for your extra work. My wife was pretty amazed, and she doesn't really care about guitars! I got her together
in a whilwind of compulsive behaviour last night and she is AWESOME. I'm letting the strings and the trem get
used to eachother. I want to take a picture outside in the sunlight to get the full effect - I will send to you ASAP.
Thank you again sir and I will not hesitate to call on you again when my instruments need work.
Hi Jimmy
- Thanks for the following up. I love the bass -- play it all
the time.
Thanks for checking in.   ----------- Frank

I'm playing your bass exclusively. It sounds so great. I'm
starting to thin the herd -- sold my '76 Tbird on Wednesday. I'll miss it
but it feels good -- the guy will gig it and he's a hardcore Tbird
collector. He's wild.

I am enjoying the tone of the guita
